Print this pageForward this document  Displaying the tax return

When DT Max displays a tax return, it first runs the calculations using the keyword data that has been entered, and then places the return on the print queue. Once a tax return is on the print queue, it can be displayed on the screen in exactly the same way that it would be printed. This enables you to do most of your verification on screen, before investing the time and cost of printing the return. You must, however, ensure that all the documents you print for filing purposes meet the governments' respective requirements.

Scrolling through the tax return

You can use the Windows scroll bars to move through the return. However, it is much easier to use the page selection index (see User interface) to choose the page of the return you wish to see displayed.

Zoom in / zoom out

You can see the return more clearly by zooming in on it. To do so, you may click the Zoom in icon on the toolbar. In the same manner, you can zoom out   to make the text smaller.

Modifying the tax return

To modify the tax return, go back to the data entry screen by clicking the Data entry icon on the toolbar or by pressing [F2].

Verifying plans

Note that when verifying returns and comparing plans, you do not have to scroll up and down the tax return to compare results. Your marker will be set at the same place on all of your clients' tax returns and plans for that year. All you have to do is choose the plan you want in the Type of return box on the toolbar.

Right-click menus

There are two different menus available on tax return pages when you click with the right button of your mouse (right-click). One type of menu is presented whenever you right-click on a field (field menu). The other type of menu is presented whenever you click anywhere on a tax return page other than on a field (page menu).

  • Page menu

This menu provides general options for changing how the page is displayed. Among other things, you can adjust the size of the page, as well as toggle the display of the page index.

  • Field menu

This menu provides options related specifically to fields.

      The following options are available:

Override this field (Ctrl+F2) - This QuickTrack feature enables the user to override amounts calculated by DT Max directly on the tax return field and then adjust the data entry (keywords) accordingly.

Override this field (Ctrl+F2) - This QuickTrack feature enables the user to override amounts calculated by DT Max directly on the tax return field and then adjust the data entry (keywords) accordingly.
